Our school is a Title I school in Orem, Utah. More than half of our students receive free and reduced lunches. Some of them are refugees, others are sent home with food on the weekends because they may not eat otherwise, many face family difficulties every time they go home, and some are learning English for the first time. I teach all students at Bonneville, totaling over 500 students from all different backgrounds. Despite their difficulties, however, my students come to school every day excited to learn and improve. Art allows students to express themselves in a way they crave. It inspires critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and other critical life skills. My goal is to instill in each of my student a love of learning and a passion for creativity they can carry with them throughout their lives.
