My students will benefit from having these flexible seating options, because having a variety of choices will allow them to find a way to better focus and concentrate on what they are doing. Many of my students come into our classroom with little outside support, a variety of learning needs and very different learning styles. Using flexible seating options like stools, wobble stools, and stability balls will give my students a choice as to what kind of learning environment works best for them leading to higher levels of engagement, collaboration and participation in the classroom. Having the opportunity to choose what suits their learning best, gives my students the chance to become more comfortable in the classroom and in turn, stay more invested in their tasks, improve behavior and have the ability to move around the room more easily to share their ideas and work with others. My ultimate goal is to use flexible seating options to meet each of my students unique personalities and learning styles and to create a classroom environment where each student feels confident, comfortable and excited to learn.
