Our school library is a place where students come to learn about literacy and technology. With these resources, I will be able to create a true Makerspace in our library where students will have the power of choice in their learning experiences. Activities will be tied to literacy while giving children hands on learning. STEM Bins will offer endless opportunities for inquiry-based application and open the door to future engineering design practices. Students will learn to communicate and collaborate with one another while creating unique projects. Lego bricks, magnetic tiles, geoboards, and marbles are additional tools needed to help create effective STEM Bins. Makey Makeys will offer students opportunities to learn about circuits and electricity. Makey Makeys allow students to take everyday objects and connect them to the internet, offering yet another hands on learning experience. The 3D printing materials will help students take everything they have learned about the engineering design process to the ultimate level. They will be able to design a prototype on the computer and use our Dremel 3D printer to print their final product. Thank you in advance for any donations you are able to send our way!
