Most of my students have come here from Venezuela. They have to seek refugee from the horrible violent conditions in their home. These students have left everything behind to seek safety. Speaking with my students, most of them would not attend school afraid that they would be murdered or kidnapped on their way, as they would have to pass through those violent neighborhoods to get to school. My students are the most loving and eager students you can come across. They are appreciative of everything I have provided for them in their space (classroom). I teach only Reading and Language Arts so therefore my classroom is set up for that instructions. They were in awe to see our classroom library set up in such a way that was so inviting. This summer I spent most of money on purchasing a new rug, various pillows, and a reading lamp. I wanted to make a place for them to feel comfortable to read.
