This requested Fun with Phonics Carpet will create a comfortable sitting environment for learning. It will also allow students to recognize the sounds of the letters in the alphabet as they will be using this rug daily as part of their learning experience. It will offer a sense of comfort when we're reading books, learning about math, singing songs, or just talking about our day. With a more comfortable seating arrangement we will have extra padding for learning. Since this is our central meeting spot it will also brighten the area and open conversation with what is on the rug. Any chance for conversations to be engaged is an opportunity for learning. We are often seated on the floor listening to books, learning new skills, and working on projects. As their teacher I want their first experience of school to be a wonderful one.
