Our students work thru six different engineering courses, each of which requires solid modeling applications. Designing a structural model in Inventor then using the stress analyzing function and being able to print the object makes for amazing possibilities. The students in Engineering Design and Development spend the entire year researching, designing, building prototypes, testing and publishing their projects. The makerspace and the 3D printers we are requesting are essential for all our students. In the past, we have students design and submit patents for items that include enhanced musical instruments, furniture and safety devices for football players. Without having the capabilities of being able to produce prototypes, my students can not accurately verify thru testing the efficiency and effectiveness of their product design.
