Flexible seating allows students to keep moving throughout the day. It is crucial for students to have the opportunity to keep moving so their brains don’t become inactive. Studies show when the body becomes stationary for long periods of time brain activity slows down. Students will be able to take charge of their learning by choosing the flexible seating that is right for them. At the present time most students are sitting on hard traditional chairs and the carpeted concrete floor. I have introduced a few flexible seating options like exercise balls, cushions, and pillows. I have found flexible seating is providing my students with the stamina they need to grow their brains all day. It also cuts the discipline and my students are noticeably more engaged in my instructions and their independent work. The products I have selected will help all of my students have the opportunity to choose flexible seating. The Wobble stools allow for movement in a specific location and are extremely beneficial for students that are wiggly. The stability wobble cushions allow students to sit on the floor comfortably and move at the same time. Sitting on the concrete floor under the carpet is very uncomfortable. Knowing the success that flexible seating offers, has me extremely excited to post this project. I know the students are going to be even more excited with more choices for everyone in the class.
