I am a high school English and nutrition teacher. My goal is to foster a love for reading, critical thinking, and a love for one's body. I believe that education is the great equalizer and that my students deserve my absolute best, everyday. My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Many parents are working 2-3 jobs to stay afloat in this tough economy. I hope to take the burden off of these hard working parents and help empower my students to make great choices in and out of school. In addition, our school's mission focuses preparing all students for higher education and most students are first generation college students. I want my students to be integral parts of the conversations happening in college and university classrooms, hallways, and dormitories around the country, so other people cannot decide what their narrative is or is not.
