Classroom chairs -they are not a one size fits all model. Flexible seating will give my students a choice when it comes to what they sit on during instruction and independent work time. All of my students learn differently and need unique seating opportunities in order to optimize their learning within the classroom. These choices will allow them to reflect upon the type of learner they are - "Do I focus on my learning when I can move a little bit while sitting?". If so, then a wobble chair would be a great fit for this student. The floor seats and large pillows will be used during our reading and math workshop blocks. During this time the students work in small groups around the room and would love to have something comfortable to sit on if they are on the hard floor. These seating options could improve the level of engagement in my students tremendously. I believe that my classroom environment is very important to my students learning. I want them to feel comfortable, welcomed, loved, and taken care of when they are in our classroom. The addition of these flexible seating choices will give our classroom environment the boost it needs!
