All of our students want the opportunity to become amazing readers. Our classroom lacks the instructional materials that would allow my students to succeed in reading. Without the use of furniture for reading centers, students begin to dread the idea of having to read. The use of a reading center would allow my students to practice reading skills such as phonics and even helping each other how to read. Having cubby storage to place our leveled readers allows students to access material easily. The reading nook would allow students to work in a buddy system to help each other with reading fluency. The classroom rug would allow other students to join them in their reading adventure. This will enhance the reading and learning environment in the classroom for my bilingual students. As they work with each other at their new reading center, they will have the opportunity to collaborate with one another to succeed in their reading journey!
