The students in room 207 are kind, helpful, hardworking, and strive to do their best both academically and socially every day. Unfortunately, in addition to the typical social issues a 4th grader may experience, my students often have additional stressors in their lives beyond their control. I try to create a learning environment that is safe and rigorous and also supports their wide variety of social and emotional needs. Families at our school are loving, hardworking, and care so much about their children's education. We are an urban school that celebrates diversity. Our student population includes an equal mix of African American, Latino, and Asian Pacific Islander students. We serve English Language Learners, support special needs through inclusion, and provide strong social-emotional support to all students. Additionally, over 75% of the students attending our school qualify for free or reduced price lunch.
