I am a special education teacher for students In grades kindergarten through fifth. I teach students with varying needs and abilities. My students have learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, and social/emotional needs. Most of my students are taught in my resource classroom, while I also co-teach with a general education teacher in all core subjects in a fifth grade classroom. Though I had previously taught some skills to my social skills groups, this year I incorporated mindfulness exercises for all my students, as I have learned and seen the benefits they can have on attention, learning ability, emotional regulation, and social awareness. In order to teach all my students, I need more mindfulness and social/emotional materials in my classroom. I am also teaching other teachers how to implement mindfulness exercises as and I want to ensure my support is effective as possible.
