I have two periods of these students who are the lowest readers in my high school (1st - 4th grade levels of reading). These courses, using Read180 intervention curriculum, are heavy reading and writing classes (in fact, there's more writing in these classes than in my preAP Eng9 classes I also teach). And students get lots of practice writing & typing drafts of various essay forms.
