Current titles and choice enables children to read engaging text relevant to them and the world they live in now, while having a variety of things to read. This is important to allow students to feel like they have a say in their education. Students will be engaging in literature circle discussions, using post it notes to mark areas of focus for their discussions. These marked spots will allow students to interact with the text and share their ideas within their group. Discussing text is a great way to get kids engaged in higher order thinking.
