The materials listed will help improve the learning of my students as they give my students the opportunity to improve their brainstorming. We would place the engineering design cycle template within the packets for students to brainstorm and design their ideas before building. The materials requested will help improve my students' learning as they will enhance the brainstorming phase of the Engineering Design Cycle. I want to make the students excited about brainstorming and new projects by building brainstorming kits. In addition, this will help our classroom move towards saving paper! With teaching multiple grade levels, we have many different hands-on projects going on in the classroom. Highlight projects that my sixth graders will be working on this year will be towering toothpick challenge, build a launcher, Rube Goldberg crazy contraption, egg car, parachute, bridge building, assembly line, robotics, and a scale model project. An example on how we would use these materials in a project in this grade level is when the students are studying Rube Goldberg and are assigned to design their own crazy contraption. The students would place a Engineering Design Cycle template in the clear pocket to fill out and brainstorm in different areas. For example, they would list and draw what they learned from researching about Rube Goldberg, they would draw ideas to include in their crazy contraption, as well as listing the materials they will need to use. The students will be more engaged in brainstorming with these kits because they will enjoy drawing out their ideas and sharing them with their classmates and can easily make adjustments to their drawings as needed. Best of all, the students can use these covers over and over again throughout each project without reprinting the Engineering Design Template for every
