My students come to school each day with diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn. The students are not only from the neighborhood, but many of them travel from all over the city to be apart of our classroom. Shawmont School was built in 1929 and my classroom is small. There are 33 students with not enough space to stay organized and maintain their own personal space. Seat sacks would provide my students with the additional space that they need to be successful learners.
