I am currently the golf coach for both the boys and girls team at my school. Golf is an expensive sport to play and because of that many of our students choose not to play. I coach in a low income area and they simply cannot afford all of the equipment and training tools necessary to play. By having these materials I know I can get some of the less fortunate athletes, who I know can be successful at golf, come out and join the team. It's no secret that their are more girls golf scholarships that go unused than any other sport. To me this is a shame. I feel these materials can help me recruit boys and girls in my school to come out and play. Golf is a sport I love and I believe it can teach kids many important life lessons. Unfortunately many who want to play can't because it is so expensive. The training tools that I have requested can immediately impact my teams and help the athletes get better. My hope is that with these training tools I can help some of my athletes progress to the point that college coaches are interested, and that those unused scholarships can be used by someone who probably wouldn't be able to afford college. I want my players to move on to college and I want more people to take advantage of the opportunities golf provides. With these materials, clubs, swing trainer, putt trainers, a golf push cart, shag bag, and chipping nets, I am confident I can help these kids in my school.
