These 6 Kindle Fires will allow students who are not working with the teacher on literacy skills to still be engrossed in literacy. It will allow the teacher to give students double the literacy time in a meaningful way. The students will no longer do "busy" work but will actually practice and improve their literacy skills through various educational apps. Students thrive with technology and will be excited to learn! It will require less materials to prepare and less waste, since students will no longer need paper or pencil to complete. It will give students their own authority over how they learn. Students will utilize this resource by logging in daily during a 30 minute period. They will use a variety of educational apps to strengthen their sight word knowledge, their decoding skills, letter recognition, letter sound recognition, and other maths concepts as well. These materials will allow the students to work at their own independent level, whether it is on level, below level, or above level.
