This project will make a difference to my students in that it will allow me to perform many quick assessments throughout the day. Students are learning to be strong writers by, among other things, learning writing conventions and grammar skills. Collecting a variety of formative assessments provides the data that allows me to target instruction at what each child needs to develop critical skills. Using whiteboards as an alternative to paper and pencil also provides a different tactile experience, which will benefit students are engaged in highly focused work for long periods. These students needs movement breaks and the opportunities to share their work with their peers.
