My middle and high school students live in a high need, intensely urban neighborhood. More than 25% of our school's students have been identified with either Special Needs or as English Language Learners, so conveying college-level academic content has to be visually engaging, accessible, and interactive. They are both influenced and motivated by the feedback of their peers, as well school/life connections. They also benefit from explaining their own work and from opportunities to direct the learning process.
