My students exude a reverence for the natural beauty that surrounds them and exhibit the ethic of the hard work that it takes to keep a predominantly mom and pop, seasonally dependant community alive. While the environment and culture of Door County are rich, my students come from households of various income levels. Many of the families of Door County sacrifice economically in order to enjoy the riches of the environment. The environment is our life source in Door County. I have a dream of building a strong subject integrated program where students will be engaged in the authentic work of preserving the environment.
