Flexible seating will allow my students to be able to comfortably learn in an environment that will reflect their unique learning styles. As 6th graders, many of them have out grown the traditional desk and chair model. The traditional seats take time out of my students learning as they often squeak, scrape the floors, wobble and are just plain uncomfortable. My students are now at an age where they physically can not sit comfortably in the one size fits all model metal desk and chair. The use of bean bags and cushioned stools will allow students the chance to learn comfortably in an environment that offers comfort and the freedom of choice. The rug will allow students who prefer to be on the floor, as opposed to any chair, an inviting opportunity to fuel their learning as if they were in the comfort of their own home.
