Students in my science and STEM classes know and value the importance of collaboration and group work. When working in groups, each student is assigned a certain job. Last year, however, one of the jobs almost ended up being "floor fisherman" because so many tiny pieces and parts would roll off our moon-shaped desks into the beautiful diamond-shaped hole in the center that we refer to as the Black Hole in my galaxy themed classroom. Having solid (black-holeless) tables will allow students to work effectively and efficiently without worrying about losing their tiny project pieces! Successful projects rely on successful workspaces!
