One area my students struggle most with is text to world connections! I work hard to plan high level interactive and engaging lessons daily. However, building background knowledge in students who are economically disadvantaged proves to be a great challenge! The majority of my classroom do not travel beyond city limits and half of them have never sat on the sands of a beach or visited a farm. This is why I am asking for chromebooks to add to my lesson planning resources. Chromebooks will allow my students to step outside the walls of the classroom without spending a dime or ever opening the door! With chromebooks my inner city students would be able to visit sites they may never get to see first hand. Chromebooks would allow students to tour settings of a book, world landmarks, and introduce students to content that would boost their reading comprehension. Integrating chromebooks would allow me to reach all diverse learners in my classroom. The engaging visual content will help learners who have language challenges as well as those with special needs. Please help my students Get Outta Class with Virtual Field Trips!!!
