I am excited to set my classroom up as an inquiry-based engineering lab. My students will learn from fairy tale kits that they can solve problems by engineering. I will help them read the story, they will define the problem, and then brainstorm to come up with solutions. The chain reaction kit will engage my students to critically think and collaborate. Each group will design and build, film their results, journal about them, and present to the class. Every team in the room will have an opportunity to do this. We will then take their ideas and present them to Engineers in the community. They will participate in a Shark Tank and have the students present their projects. These engineering materials will really help my students grow and develop their problem-solving skills.
