AVID is heavily based on research and we do not have the funds or capability to have laptops in the classroom. We need a set of 11 computers for our freshman students to use when they are working on their research projects. AVID is about finding their dream career and college and technology is a must in our classroom environment whether that involves writing papers or researching. Most of our students aren't familiar with basic typing and paper formats. Freshman year is a pivotal year to get them prepared for high school and to give them the 21st century skills they need to succeed in the future.
