I am requesting 30 yoga mats to provide a yogalates class for my students. This class will combine yoga and Pilates to provide the students with a challenging, but therapeutic sensation to increase flexibility, body awareness, and overall health. Exercise allows students to clear and energize their minds so they are ready to learn in the classroom. My goal is for students to leave the yogalates class feeling relaxed and energized! My students carry so much stress from the emotional challenges that come from their poverty stricken homes. Yogalates will allow them to de-stress and relieve any tension they may have. At my school, I am not only teaching but learning from my students. Our students are actively searching for people to love on them and be supportive. The faculty and staff at my school try to offer "outside of the box" opportunities for our students to shine!
