The school day is long and the expectation for students to be able to sit still in their chairs all day does not match up with research behind student movement and learning.
Our class would LOVE and BENEFIT greatly from flexible seating options! The yoga balls would provide the students with the opportunity to build core stability, posture, and the flexibility to get their wiggles out while staying alert and focusing on their work. The yoga balls come with a disk for the base of them to insure the students safety and control while in the room. The stack stools would provide the same option for students but would be used during student small group interventions. The stools would fit under the table and allow the students to use the color recognition for classroom management as well as switch up their posture to allow them to focus more on their work verse slouching in the same chairs they sit in throughout day. The clip boards and dry erase dots would provide the option for students to travel with their work as well as sit on the floor or outside for a change of scenery. These supplies would also provide me the chance to work one on one with the students providing them with the individualized attention that they need.
