We start each morning with a class meeting to discuss the day, share stories, and listen to stories read aloud. We need a large rug that will give each child their own personal space but still feel like a part of the classroom family. We will use the class rug for classroom activities, games, partner work, sharing, singing songs, and read alouds. The rug I selected is a calming gray tone, perfect for the large size and for the space in the room. The sit spots provide some color and will create a personal space for each child in my class. The different color spots will help with grouping and for students to feel ownership of their area on the carpet.
