I am excited to embark on this journey! Over the years, I have watched students struggle to sit in uncomfortable desks and chairs. This year, I allowed my students to choose their spots with limited resources. Next year, I would like to offer students a variety of seating options such as stability balls, bean bags and Hokki stools. Hokki stools give students the ability to wiggle in their seats without being unsafe. The bean bags and stability balls offer students a comfortable place to learn and work. I would like book bins for my students so they have their own area to keep these supplies and materials. This will allow students to be more responsible for their learning and behaviors. They will not be bound to their desk and they can work in a comfortable environment. This will help instill responsibility and kindness into students as they are responsible for every aspect of the classroom. Flexible seating gives students a sense of pride to know that they are keeping the classroom clean and flowing for each other, not for me.
