Our school holds two career days every year. This year I am sponsoring a career day for floristry where I will teach students how to care for plants, the proper way to cut flowers to keep them fresh in arrangements, and how to plan arrangements based on the flowers they have available. I plan on using these plants to illustrate the stages the flowers go through and to teach the students how to care for the plants. The majority of our students are English Language Learners and benefit from visuals when new concepts are being discussed in class. We already had our meet and greet session and the students are looking forward to exploring the floristry career further next month!
