At our school, most students have sensory processing difficulties which interfere with their ability to participate in class, interact positively with peers, eat a well balanced meal, and follow directions. Having sensory equipment will help our students better manage their sensory needs both independently and with support. The therapeutic listening program that we will be using the Sennheiser headphones with, is an evidence based program established by Vital Links. Vital Links's Therapeutic Listening program has been proven to help students improve their social interaction, balance and coordination, attention, and emotional regulation. Sennheiser offers open-air headphones that allow voices to come in while students listen to music, and are recommended for therapeutic listening. The vibrating cushions will also aid our students by meeting sensory needs so that they can remain seated and focused during lessons.
