Students are expected to step into a school ready to learn reading, writing and math. They are expected to make academic gains despite what they may have experienced before the bus picks them up or what they anticipate experiencing when the bus drops them off. My students come from all different walks of life, with all kinds of life experiences. Some of these experiences are wonderful and scrapbook-worthy, but some of the things they experience would make the rest of us break down and hide. Yet they show up EVERY day! These materials will provide lifelong tools to help students become the best versions of themselves that they can be! I am asking for help to purchase the items needed to make this daily practice successful. My students need yoga mats to use in mindful practice to learn strategies that will enhance their daily experience and help them better manage their emotions and decisions. A few of my students have brought towels from home to use, but the towels have become disruptive to the practice because of the slick surface and inability to stay in place.
