Receiving multiple books about different countries would make such a positive impact on my students' learning! When selecting the different countries, it was important for students to have the opportunity to explore one country from every continent. All of these books have been chosen because they are apart of a series, contain similar subtopics, have beautiful images that will expose students to the beauty of the world, and each series is written at a different reading level. It is inspiring to see the excitement and passion my students have for reading about faraway places. In this unit, students read about, study, and compare and contrast different countries, cultures, and landscapes. It is important to have several books for each country as well as have these resources at a variety of reading levels to accommodate and differentiate instruction for all students. These books will provide great exposure for students to understand that although we have differences in the way we live, there are still many aspects of our cultures that make us all similar. Hopefully one day, my students will have the opportunity to experience and explore these cultures!
