Students will be more comfortable in class with the learning stools I am requesting. This flexible seating will encourage them to put distractions aside and focus on what they are learning in class. Students will focus on what we are learning instead of focusing on how uncomfortable they are and how they would rather be sitting in one of the few flexible seats in my classroom already. The students are motivated during class to be sure they are on task, and these seats will allow the students who need to move and fidget to be able to do so in a nondisruptive way. Teachers are constantly trying to be more and more effective and make our classroom environments the absolute best for each and every one of our students. Having these stools and standing desks will allow students to sit down while still getting to move. These stools will also allow students with ADHD an appropriate way to move around while helping to retain focus on class. Certain students do not like sitting in a desk. They like being able to stand while in class or during a lecture. Students with IEPs already get this option, but wouldn't it be great to allow ALL students this wonderful option? I can't wait to see their excitement when they walk in and find out they are getting to sit in the "awesome" seats this week! Having more of these seats increases the excitement for more students and improves the students' overall school and learning experience.
