One way we try to support our learners in our ELD space is to help them develop the language of math, literacy, science and social studies. All the materials requested will support all the students that we serve in our department on a daily basis. Each one of our scholars have their own needs and having a variety of learning tools available will better support their learning. Our scholars need these learning manipulative as supports to be successful in their mainstream classrooms. They will use the math manipulative to develop their understanding of the language of math as well as the math concepts themselves. Whether we start with counting or learning how to describe different geometric figures, learning is constantly happening in our space. The materials will help our scholars engage with what they are learning in meaningful and practical ways.
