My students are all from the inner city. They live in very difficult, dangerous, and crime-ridden areas. Our school was built in 1966. It is a comprehensive high school. Some students have to walk and some take public transportation. They want to live, learn, and try to succeed in life, but it is very difficult for them. The best place they have going for them in many instances is their school. They depend on the teachers and staff to provide emotional as well as educational support.
