Technology has opened the doors to reading in our classroom. Although, we have a school library and books in my classroom, utilizing reading applications on tablets and computers is the connection between students and their newfound love of reading. Due to work schedules (Las Vegas is a 24 hour city), it is difficult for many our students to visit a library other than the school library. These tablets will be used by students primarily for reading centers, individual reading periods, and other learning applications. Many students do not have technology in their home and lack Wi-Fi and computers. Adding more tablets and using technology will increase their exposure to computer applications, it will also prepare them for middle school. Using tablets is engaging and exciting for everyone! Please help me continue to foster their love of reading!
