My best hope for my classroom is that it is a place where all students can feel comfortable and safe while finding success. In order to make this happen, I want to offer a variety of seating options for students to learn in. After starting with a few small changes, I have realized I'm ready to dive in with more flexible seating. I started with some crates flipped over and several garage sale swivel stools. Using just these few options, I saw amazing changes in my students. Students were more focused on their learning tasks when allowed to make one small choice in their seating arrangement. They seemed more comfortable and happy in the classroom. I would love to bring my students some more high quality flexible seating options next year.
