Everyone knows that 1st grade is a vital year for students to learn how to read and build a foundation for a passion to read. My students have gained a love for Mo Willems' books. They are confident to read them and enjoy the humor. I know that when students leave my classroom in the summer, most of them do not have books at home and will not have the opportunity to pick up a book. I want to provide them with the same opportunities as most children by supplying them with books, addition flash cards, pencils, crayons, and a math workbooks and more!
