My students will be able to choose another area in the classroom to work independently or in small groups other then at their desks. This project will be implemented in the classroom first as a reward system for behavior management, and then as the school year continues, it will be implemented as a regular setting for work. This of course can only be achieved through more areas and options for the students. I have done my share of research on flexible seating and seen it firsthand. There are many, many benefits towards flexible seating (ball seats, bean bags and floor seats) in the classroom to raise responsibility and ownership by the students. By giving them multiple choices for learning environments, they are able to take ownership and responsibility over that space.
