The materials that I am requesting are for my grade 8 Sp.Ed students who are currently learning Geometry concepts that can be quite confusing and complex. However, by using hands on material such as graphed white boards, markers, erasers, interactive centers such as being able to hook many earphones into one computer to encourage students to work cooperatively as well as setting Geometry based centers in the classroom. Students also love writing on the white board. Unfortunately, there is no graph or coordinate grid on my current white board. The magnetic coordinate grids that go on the white board are perfect for students who sometimes need to get out of their seats and move around as they learn. There are many different learning styles in this world. When the learning experience becomes meaningful, concepts are better understood. By having a variety of materials and being able to make learning fun, my students have a much higher chance of being successful in retaining concepts they have learned.
