My classroom contains vibrant colors and posters geared towards encouraging and motivating my students. My students often comment that it is the friendliest and coziest room in the school. I teach AVID 9-12, English (all levels), and Journalism and my room is often full of projects in progress. There is constant controlled chaos as we learn and discover together. Many of my students are first generation students or come from disadvantaged backgrounds. These students often need support and encouragement to overcome their personal circumstances. These are the students with whom I connect best.
