Many of my students speak English as a second language. A projector and Elmo document camera allows for visual learning. Students can share information, brainstorm ideas and collaborate on data collection. A projected lesson allows for me to move around the classroom to work with collaborative groups. Science is a universal language that can be spoken through hands on examples shown via projector. Cooperative learning is crucial to my demographic and because we do not have enough text books. Collaboration teaches students to work together as a team to achieve one goal. This is a skill that helps them be successful in high school and life. A document reader would make the purchase of new text books unnecessary and save my school the cost of many copies. This Elmo and projector is also much more environmentally friendly. Hug a tree. My kids LOVE Science, please consider sharing your love with Room 307.
