In our first grade classroom our students spend a lot of time working and learning in a whole group atmosphere. The colorful rug will provide a nice area for my students to sit and interact with their peers during our morning routine and whole group lessons. A large area rug is a helpful way for them to stay structured in their seating assignment and their daily routine. Our reading class is conducted in a group on the floor. Stories are read and meaningful discussions take place at this time of day. The rug is another teaching tool that helps our students continue to grow and learn.
