It is disheartening to see that necessary classroom materials are not supplied to all classrooms within the district due to the lack of funding.
All students have a right to learn! Everyday classroom supplies allow learning to occur within the classroom. These necessary materials will help my students complete hands-on activities, stay organized, and simply make learning more fun! I create D.O.T. (Daily Organizational Tool) binders for each of my students. These binders help students stay organized which could be difficult for students at this young age. These binders foster independence and allow my students to take ownership of their school papers and materials. These binders also help parents locate important notices and graded papers which keep them informed on their child's progress. These binders have proven successful in years past and I would like to keep utilizing this organizational tool for future classes. With the binders, card stock, and sheet protectors donated, I will be able to make these useful tools a reality. Other supplies needed will be used for hands-on activities and learning centers. Learning stations are essential in a 2nd grade classroom. These stations or centers allow me to differentiate to meet the needs of all my students with hands-on learning activities. These centers give my students the opportunity to learn through interactive experiences while becoming independent learners while practicing learned skills in both reading and math.
The labels, craft supplies, and pocket charts will help make my learning stations fun for my students and kid-friendly to navigate. Unfortunately, not all families can afford to buy all the necessary materials for their child. It could be a struggle to bring in the bare minimum for many families. This donation would help these struggling families. Let's allow all students to reach their potential ad shine.
