We're a Title 1 school within Dallas, Tx with 100% free and reduced lunch and a majority of our population consists of bilingual students with limited english proficiency. Those are our statistics, but these are our students. My Pre-K students recently had a concert where they danced to "Do you love Me?" and brought down the house with their dancing skills. My Kindergarteners love to sing and play instruments, but their favorite is the drum. My First Graders love The Nutcracker thanks to our Christmas concert. My Second Graders recently learned a song from "Seussical the Musical" to celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday. My Third Graders attended a ballet this year and were able to recognize all of the instruments playing, much to their delight. My Fourth Graders sang to a Jackson 5 medley and learned about the history of Motown. My Fifth Graders discovered sound waves and vibrations through music by Beethoven.
