The components of the computer will initially be used to recruit several students to help build the classroom computers. Students will learn about the different components and what functions they provide for the computer. After students have been recruited for the build, we will set up a time and place to build the computer, install the OS and get the computer up and running. This project will help my technology-oriented students learn about computer hardware and accomplish something that many of them might not feel they can accomplish. This project will provide knowledge of computers, hands-on experience and confidence. At that point the computer will become a classroom device that will be used daily for teacher and student use. Research, video editing projects, the building and updating of the classroom website will all be done with this computer. Students will be commissioned to make and edit videos that will help engage them in science classes and the process of building a computer.
