At Natomas Charter School's Star Academy, innovation is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and collaboration is abundant. We design and implement common core aligned lessons and units. These lessons are designed with the unique learning styles of our students in mind. Students have access to and use various forms of technology that is thoughtfully incorporated into instruction. My students engage in team collaborations often. They are encouraged to think outside the box, make connections, think critically, and question. Their daily inquiries challenge me to be a better teacher everyday. I love it and celebrate their questioning! Our classrooms are designed for movement, allowing my lively and energetic first graders to get up and move. The footprint of the classroom enables me to teach in different areas and gives flexible seating and work space for the students. This choice is empowering and motivating for them!
