Kindergarteners have busy bodies! In order to succeed, students require a learning environment that supports their developmental needs. We currently have stagnant seating - little plastic chairs around rectangular tables that offer no room for movement or motion. Students often opt to work on the floor in order to work comfortably. Study after study shows that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. With this in mind, I hope to provide my young students with seating options like Wobble Chairs for better concentration. A research study done in a Las Vegas school found that Wobble Chairs made a difference for students. "In this study they discovered a direct correlation between student participation when using the Wobble Chair. Those who struggled from lack of focus repeatedly were more on task and able to complete assignments."
